BSIT ACCREDITATION (Mamburao & Sablayan Campuses)
Tuesday, March 8, 2022, the interview for the accreditation of the BSIT program of Mamburao and Sablayan Campuses was held online. The library accreditor, Dr. Maria Pretty Lay Abdala, University Librarian of Bulacan State University has started the interview with the Head of Libraries, Ms. Anniezeth Antolin; Campus Librarians, Ms. Bea Blanca Villajos, and Ms. Marlive Rotoni and Library Staff, Mr. Nikko Angelo Lastimosa.
At the start of the interview, the accreditor poses questions to the librarians based on the documents that were provided on the Accreditor's Suite (the gateway of accreditors to review the relevant documents, exhibits, and compliance), this is to validate the services provided. It goes on to get grips with the services provided by the campus libraries in the pandemic that support the research and instructional needs of its clientele. The discussion continues with the exchanges of different insightful recommendations and pieces of advice for the enrichment of the services of the library. In addition, a tutorial was made on the generation of reports online.
The interview ends at noontime. The accreditor has to validate the remaining exhibits to further authenticate and back up the initial documents that were presented. Friday, March 11, 2022, the closing program for the AACCUP will take place. - N. Lastimosa
AACCUP 2022
The level II accreditation of Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) in the selected programs of Mamburao and Sablayan Campuses has started on March 7, 2022, this will run until the 11th of the month. The opening of the accreditation was held online, with the Vice President for the Academic Affairs and the Vice President for Administration, Finance, and Support Services present in the Mamburao Campus, together with the coordinators in their respective departments.
The Director of Institutional Quality Assurance (IQA), Ms. Riza Reytaran spearheaded the program. The IQA Director also presented the College's Key Officials and introduced the Coordinator of the accreditation visit, Dr. Divinagracia M. De Guzman. The Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Norma B. Muyot gave her Welcome Address; the Mamburao Campus Director, Dr. Josue C. Delfin gave his Statement of Purpose, and the College President, Dr. Elbert C. Edaniol gave his Inspirational Message.
There will be one program that will be accredited in Mamburao Campus, the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, while there are 3 programs that will be accredited in Sablayan Campus, the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Criminology, and Bachelor of Secondary Education. - N. THE NATIONAL BOOK WEEK 2021
The OMSC College Libraries celebrates the 2nd National Book Week in November 2021 enjoined with the Executive College Officials, students, and faculty from inside and outside of the college. The OMSC's 2nd National Book Week celebration was held online. With different activities introduced in the span of the celebration, many students participated in the academic contests and the most awaited Webinar.
The webinar on the topic “Fact-check to Share: The Importance of Fact-Checking in Countering Misinformation" started at past 8 AM, and was on live stream simultaneously via Zoom Meeting Conferences and Facebook Live. Students of the College and other institutions from outside the province and country have participated in the event.
At the end of the webinar session, the awarding of winners for the National Book Week took place. There are 5 campuses across the province that joined the Short Film contest, Angel Lyka C. Macalalad, from the Labangan Main Campus bagged first place, while Sablayan and Mamburao campuses come in 2nd and 3rd place respectively. The Lubang and San Jose Campuses however received a consolation prize for participating in the event. Student Christian Altajeros from the Mamburao campus gained the "Most Liked Video" and received a special award. - N. Lastimosa
On March 23, 2021, the OMSC Libraries were certified as members of the Philippine Association of Academic/Research Librarian, Inc. (PAARL).
