Student /Library clientele
A. Library users are requested to present validated library card in borrowing books at all times.
B. Observe silence at all times.
Talking should be done in subdued tone.
All cellular phones must be set to silent mode before entering the library.
C. Use library materials properly. Do not tear page(S) nor underline part(S), as these are forms of vandalism or destruction of public property.
D. Eating, smoking, sleeping, bringing liquid drinks (bottled water, canned, drinks etc.) and making class project. (drawing, cutting, lettering etc.) inside the library are prohibited. However, drawing is allowable in the research room, limited to paper size.
E. Keep library facilities in order.
Push back chairs after using.
Returning borrowed books and other reading materials to designated areas;
F. Reservation of seats is not permitted (e.g. leaving books and other articles on chairs and tables).
G. The library will not be responsible for the loss of personal belongings
H. Present your things for inspections before leaving the library.
I. Students who wishes to photocopy a book should leave his/her library borrower’s card, signed the book card and logbook, with a minimum of 30 minutes to 1 hour.
A. Faculty/Staff are not allowed to borrow books for one whole semester;
B. Lost/Badly damaged library materials should be replaced or paid. A receipt of payment from the cashier office should be presented to the library to clear the accounts.
C. Faculty should inform the librarian of any class library activity 3 days before bringing the students to the library. Schedule is on first come first serve basis.
D. If the whole class is to do the research, Students should be accompanied by the subject teacher.
E. Faculty members and employees who are required to secure clearance from the library must settle all their library accounts before they are given verification slip for clearance purposes.
Circulation Policies
A. General circulating books and professional books such as those for Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Electronics) Business Administration and Management (Public Administration, Office Administration, Hotel and Restaurant management, Accounting Technology, Financial Management) Criminal justice Education (Criminology and Law Enforcement) Education (Elementary and Secondary), Agriculture etc. can be borrowed.
B. Students may loan circulation books for home use for one week, while faculty members may do so for one month provided that is not placed on reserved area.
C. Fiction books can be borrowed for one week and renewable for another week.
D. Lost/Damage books will be treated like unreturned and paid the corresponding amount to the cashier’s office.
E. Loaning out of books for photocopy and home use is up to 15 minutes before the closing time.
F. Alumni/Outsiders are not allowed to take out any library materials for home used and out photocopying.
G. Only books with three (3) or more copies shall be allowed for this purpose. However, there should be one book for other users in case a borrower fails to return books on time.
NOTE: Non-compliance may be ground for not signing of clearance.
Non-circulation Materials
THE FOLLOWING TYPES OF MATERIALS ARE TO BE USED INSIDE THE LIBRARY:
General Reference – such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlas, globes, almanac, Guinness book of records and yearbooks, etc. However, General reference books may be issued for classroom use upon the request of a faculty member, but these shall be returned within the day.
Reserve Books – (required reading materials for courses offered during the semester/ midyear) shall be lent for room use only and recalled two hours after issue. It may also be borrowed for overnight use upon request and be returned not later than 9:00 A.M. the next working day.
Periodicals – like newspapers brochures, clippings, foreign and local journals and magazines; however, faculty and officials of the college may borrow a periodical, other than the latest issue for the period of not more than one week.
Special Collections – (rare books, personal papers of the Filipiniana and Archive Sections, AV materials, microforms, diskettes, art collections, and certain types of Fine Arts Books, etc.) shall be for room use only.
Manuscripts – like dissertation, thesis, feasibility studies, narrative reports, term paper and compilation shall be subject to any restriction that may have been imposed on particular record on the donor as stipulated in the deed of donation.
Any book on loan may be recalled if: a book is to be placed on “Reserved” for a course or to be given shorter loan periods;
A. It is overdue; or
B. The libraries are conducting their mandated annual inventory.
Sections of the Library
Card Catalogue Section – The card catalog serves as guide to find a book using either the author, title or subject. It is a guide for locating specific item in a library collection (As the index of book helps to find information in the content of the entire book). Arranged alphabetically filed in cabinet trays. Technical Section – the technical section is responsible for processing all library materials needed in the library. Here, the newly acquired materials are processed before they are made ready for circulation.
Circulation Section – the circulation section handles all transactions pertinent to the borrowing and returning of books, signing of clearance, payment of overdue fines, application and release library I.D. card, lamination and others.
Special Filipina Section – This section houses work by Filipino authors: works about the Philippines; and work published in the Philippines. these materials can be used inside the library only. Student who wants to use the materials inside the glass shelves must leave their ID with the Librarian/in charge.
Graduate Studies and Thesis Section – The graduate school section of the library houses materials intended for continuing education or for higher studies.
Internet Section – This section is equipped with computers to gain access to information in the internet. Faculty and students can use this section to search for materials available in the library using subscribed and free online database.
